Meet your Orthodontist, Dr. Connie Ling:

Hello, everyone! I’m Dr. Connie Ling. My passion for orthodontics is rooted in the joy of creating beautiful, healthy smiles. As an experienced orthodontist, I take pride in crafting smiles with properly functioning bites that my patients can cherish for a lifetime.

Educational Background in Orthodontics:

I earned my Master’s in Orthodontics from the University of Alberta in 2016. Before that, I completed a rigorous five-year Dental Surgery degree at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2010, which follows the British system. The HKU School of Dentistry was ranked #1 globally in the 2016 QS World University Rankings. Additionally, I passed the FRCD(C) Orthodontic board exams with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, becoming a Canadian-Board Certified Orthodontist. This certification solidifies my commitment to providing top-tier orthodontic care.

Advanced Training and Externships:

During my training, I had the privilege of participating in prestigious externships, including Harvard’s Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine program and the University of Pennsylvania’s Periodontal Prosthodontics and Orthodontics programs. These invaluable experiences significantly refined my approach to patient care.

My one-year residency in Prosthodontics and Oral Rehabilitation also provided a strong foundation in the science and art of bite adjustments. However, my passion for treating younger patients and focusing on growth guidance ultimately led me to specialize in Orthodontics. While I primarily concentrate on non-surgical treatments, I also manage a select number of surgical cases each year and oversee various multidisciplinary treatments to ensure comprehensive care for my patients.

Research Contributions and Publications:

Beyond patient care, I was deeply involved in orthodontic research. I have authored several peer-reviewed publications on the effects of aging on different parts of the skull and jaw, both with and without maxillary expansion treatments.

Additionally, I’ve co-authored two book chapters on 3-dimensional imaging assessments following maxillary expansion, in collaboration with esteemed professors at the University of Alberta.

Philosophy & Practice Goals:

At my practice, our philosophy is centered on attentive listening, clear communication, and delivering an exceptional, personalized orthodontic experience. We are committed to serving our local community and advancing the dental profession that has shaped my career.

By staying at the forefront of orthodontic technology, and utilizing the latest technology, we strive to deliver more efficient, reliable and comfortable treatment for patients to enjoy lifelong.

As an Orthodontist Specialist and Top Diamond Invisalign Provider since 2021, I offer my patients advanced orthodontic solutions that go beyond traditional metal braces, helping them achieve straighter and healthier smiles.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I really look forward to getting to know you!
