Tips for Poking Wires
Loose wires can become irritating and cause discomfort. If you cannot reach your orthodontist immediately, you can try these tips.

What You’ll Need:
Adult supervision
A pair of clean nail clippers
A mirror
Steps:
Get a clear view – Carefully tuck away the lips
Clip It – Carefully trim away the extra length wire with a clean nail clipper.

Why does it happen?
When we are closing spaces in orthodontics, especially with extraction cases, the existing wire length will protrude out at the ends, causing excessive wire poking.
There are measures to reduce the impact of this effect. However, it is a natural side effect of metal braces system.
The only recommendation is to trim the wire when it happens.
